Scottish legal firm of the year, Pagan Osborne has retained trainee, Zara Mair, who qualifies as a solicitor today (5th June) when she will officially join the Private Client team in Edinburgh.
Twenty-seven year old Zara, who lives in Roslin Glen, will specialise in Wills, Guardianships, Powers of Attorney and Trusts and will work closely alongside partner Alan Innes and solicitors Lianne Lodge and Stuart Lisgo.
Having completed an honours degree in physiology at St Andrews University in 2002, Zara decided to dip her toe into the legal waters when she was offered the chance to work for her mother’s legal firm in Edinburgh’s Dalry area. Instantly bitten by the legal bug, she then undertook a two year accelerated programme in law at Edinburgh University in order to fulfil her ambitions.
Speaking about her promotion, Zara said:
“I’m delighted to have been offered the chance to become a solicitor – my only regret is that I didn’t choose to go down this career road sooner.
“Over the last two years Pagan Osborne has been incredibly supportive and allowed me to work in private client, conveyancing and executries - all of which are my key areas of interests. I was also fortunate enough to have the opportunity to do an extended seat in private client in order to get a real flavour of this area before I settled on this as my practise area of choice.”
Alistair Morris, Chief Executive, said:
“Our trainee programme gives everyone the chance to truly understand and experience the different areas of practice. It is rewarding when our trainees express such a strong desire to continue their careers with Pagan Osborne. Bringing in new talent will encourage new ideas in the Firm and keep us relevant and committed to our clients.”
