Pagan Osborne, the R&A’s official letting agents for the 150th Open Championship in St Andrews, is celebrating securing a successful season of lets for its clients in St Andrews and the East Neuk of Fife.
The firm, which has offices in St Andrews, Anstruther, Cupar and Edinburgh, has been the R&A’s official partner for the Open in St Andrews for 25 years and the relationship continues to go from strength-to-strength.
Having been established for over 250 years, Pagan Osborne is one of Scotland’s leading legal, financial and property firms.
Matthew Gray, property sales director at Pagan Osborne, said:
“Our intrinsic understanding of the market has allowed us another successful season of lets for this landmark Open year.
“We market the properties we are confident people visiting the Open will want to stay in and price them at rates we know are in line with market conditions.”
And, despite a downturn in market conditions since the last Open in St Andrews five years ago, Pagan Osborne has found people will still travel from far and wide for this iconic event in the world’s ‘home of golf’. The majority of overseas travellers will come from the USA, but guests come for as far afield as Australia, Japan and India .
The average property price was £4500, with the highest price achieved for a let for the week at £20,000.
The most popular criteria guests have are, in order of popularity, distance to the course, price and number of bathrooms.
One property marketed by Pagan Osborne is owned by renowned golf writer George Peper which overlooks the 18th hole. It has marketed a range of properties, from one-bedroom town centre apartments to large cottages on the outskirts of St Andrews.
Matthew added:
“We have let a diverse range of properties toscoresof groups visiting this year’s landmark Open.
“We are very proud of our relationship with the R&A and this iconic event.”
