Pagan Osborne, one of Scotland’s leading legal, financial and property specialists, has appointed Sue Calder as its first Business Development Partner.
Her full time role is to create and develop opportunities for growth through strategic alliances across all areas of the firm’s practice. The move is part of Pagan Osborne’s drive to meet the challenges that the proposed deregulation of the legal services market and multi-disciplinary practices will bring, through the introduction of new and sustainable revenue streams.
Sue Calder, until now a conveyancing partner with the firm, takes up her new appointment this month following 23 highly successful years specialising in residential property matters. She joined Pagan Osborne in 2005, when the firm took on Bell & Scott’s private client business, and has consistently taken a lead in both internal and external business development initiatives.
Pagan Osborne’s Chief Executive, Alistair Morris, said:
“Sue’s role is hugely important as we look to introduce new initiatives to support the firm’s continued growth. People know Sue for her determination and passion which with her expertise and knowledge of the legal profession is a very powerful combination. We are thrilled to have her now working in this ambassadorial and business development role so that all areas of the firm can benefit from her skills and experience. She spearheads our development strategy going forward.”
Sue Calder added:
“This is an exciting challenge. Over the years while I’ve been practising law, one of my strengths has been client retention and business development so moving into this role is a natural progression for me. It allows me to build on my existing external roles, including that with the Edinburgh Conveyancing Forum and drive forward innovative partnerships which will help define the future of Pagan Osborne.”
Sue will remain a member of the Edinburgh Conveyancing Forum playing a key role in the development of Home Information Packs (HIPs) and aiming to keep the introduction of single surveys as simple as possible.
