- Later Years
We've been helping people make the right decisions at key stages in their lives for more than 250 years. Through it all, we've kept our focus on building a range of legal, financial and property services that would truly reflect the needs and aspirations of our clients, bringing all our expertise and experience together to provide individually tailored advice with that special Pagan Osborne personal touch.
We understand that each step on life's journey can bring its own unique challenges and problems - and no more so than coping with the inevitability of advancing age. That's why we've introduced our lateryears service, dedicated to providing caring support for our older clients and their families in a comprehensive take-care-of-everything offering which we believe to be unique in Scotland.
In the capable hands of specialist expert Lianne Lodge serving clients in Edinburgh and Fife, our lateryears service offers a flexible choice of different levels of help and support to cover every situation.
With the emphasis on safeguarding your present and future financial and personal wellbeing, this is the choice for you to make sure you can keep your independence and stay in your own home for as long as possible.
At Home Plus
As time goes by, you may find you need ever higher levels of daily care to maintain your independent life at home. If this is the case, we can offer extra support in arranging the additional care you need and managing your everyday affairs, including organising respite care for friends or family who may be looking after you and making sure you receive all the benefits you are entitled to. This could also be the time when thoughts might turn to the possibility of moving into Sheltered Accommodation or a Care Home - and this is where the next stage of our lateryears service comes in.
We can help you and your family get ready for the move into Care by gathering information on the most suitable choices of Home for your individual needs, as well as taking care of all the necessary paperwork. We will then provide whatever support you need to make your stay in the Care Home as comfortable and worry free as possible, including looking after all your financial arrangements and making sure you continue to receive the level of care you deserve.
So which of these lateryears options would be of most benefit to you? Simply click on what you believe to be the most appropriate choice below to find out more about the help and support you can look forward to from Pagan Osborne.
Later Years At Home
It's a well known fact that we are all living longer in retirement than ever before. This means, hopefully, many more years stretching ahead of you, and it's only natural that you should want to continue leading an independent life in your own home for as long as possible. So what should you be doing now to make sure you can look forward to the future with confidence and complete peace of mind?
This is what our lateryears At Home service is all about. We can explain how it may be possible to protect the property and financial assets you've built up over your working life against Inheritance Tax and future Care Home fees so that you'll be able to leave more than just memories to pass down to succeeding generations.
If you think that now might be a good time to downsize to a smaller property, we can help with a valuation and then take care of all aspects of your sale and new property purchase. Are you taking full advantage of all the benefits you may be entitled to? And as the years go by, how best can we arrange the additional care and help at home you may need to keep enjoying life to the full?

Later Years At Home Plus
There's no getting away from the fact that our physical and mental abilities might diminish to one degree or another as we get older. For many - although not all - this can mean everyday life at home becoming increasingly difficult, requiring ever higher levels of care and support.
If you feel that you are now in this situation but still want to remain at home for as long as possible, there are many ways in which our lateryears At Home Plus service can help. Personally tailored to reflect your individual needs, this part of our service includes organising the care you need and making sure your immediate and long term financial affairs are kept in order so you'll have one less thing to worry about.
And if your thoughts are now turning to the possibility of moving into Sheltered Accommodation or a Care Home, we can research the different options available to help you make the right choices about your future. As well as completing all the paperwork on your behalf, we'll arrange everything down to the last detail to ensure your transition into your new home runs as smoothly as possible.

Later Years In Care
The decision to spend your remaining years in a Care Home environment is never one to be taken lightly - but, on the other side of the coin, it could prove to be the very best choice you could make at this stage of your later life years. Not only should it offer the comforting reassurance that you'll be able to look forward to the highest standards of care but you'll have every chance to make new friends and enjoy a new social life.
This is naturally what you're hoping for - and we can help to get you off to the best possible start by providing vital information on the choice of Care Homes that might be most appropriate to the level of care you need and the kind of everyday company you want to keep. We visit clients in Care Homes on a regular basis, so any details we provide are based on our own experience to help you and your family make exactly the right decision.
With our lateryears In Care service, you can always count on having someone on your side to make sure you have everything you need to gain maximum benefit from your life in care. For example, we can look after all your financial affairs including payment of bills and ensuring that you receive your full entitlement to appropriate benefits. If you wish, we can arrange for befrienders to visit you regularly and even accompany you on days out. With your welfare and best interests at heart, we can also act as your personal representative at meetings with Social Services and care home administrators to voice any needs or complaints you may have and make sure you continue to receive the quality care you deserve.
