Pagan Osborne and CKD Galbraith to hold annual agricultural seminar

Pagan Osborne and CKD Galbraith are holding their annual agricultural affairs seminar on 7 March 2013 at the Lower College Hall, North Street, St Andrews. Speakers at the event include the journalist and former MSP Andrew Arbuckle, former Tayside Police Wildlife Crime Officer, Alan Stewart and a panel of experts from Pagan Osborne and CKD Galbraith.

During the evening, Andrew Arbuckle will be addressing the impact of climate change and how the industry is adapting, while Alan Stewart will provide useful information to farmers and landowners on wildlife crime legislation and explain recent changes to the law.

Colin Clark, partner and head of agriculture and estates at Pagan Osborne, is an accredited specialist in agricultural law. He said: “Last year’s seminar was a great success.  This year, we are looking forward to another lively and informative evening and are extremely fortunate to have speakers of such a high calibre.

“The topics Andrew and Alan are discussing are very relevant and sometimes need a bit of clarity. But it is also a chance for people to ask questions about the many issues being faced by the farming industry, engage in debate and get up to date with current legislation.”

Mike Reid, partner in charge of CKD Galbraith’s utilities division, will also attend the event. He said: ‘’We are delighted to once again be co-hosting our annual rural seminar with Pagan Osborne, building on the success of previous years’ seminars. Climate change and the effect on the farming industry together with wildlife crime are very topical issues and will affect many people in the countryside.

“Our previous seminars have stimulated healthy debates on a wide range of pertinent subjects such as the potential impact of an independent Scotland, CAP reform and renewable energy and I expect this year’s event to again be an informative evening.”

This year’s event will be held at the Lower College Hall, North Street, St Andrews on Thursday March 7 from 6pm. Attendance is free.  To register contact Pagan Osborne on 01334 653777, CKD Galbraith on 01334 659981 or  www.paganosborne.com
