Bringing over 20 years of experience in private practice to his role as Head of both our Edinburgh Private Client and Commercial and Business Service Teams , Alan is very much a ‘people person’ and enjoys keeping in regular touch with our clients to make sure they are being well looked after.
In the same vein, he is particularly interested in helping clients stay on top of their legal and financial affairs by providing free 360 Lifestage Reviews, touching on such topics as Wills, Powers of Attorney, Tax Planning, Trusts, Strategic Property Transfers, Retirement Planning, Family Business Advice … and more.
Recent achievements include leading his team to the titles of Private Client Team of the Year at the Scottish Legal Awards 2011 and Team of the Year in our own internal awards. In the highly respected Legal 500 2011 industry directory, his team were commended for being ‘strong in all areas of Private Client work’ and, as Practice Head, he received the prestigious accolade of being ‘recommended’.
On a personal note…
Favourite Film: Any of those great Hollywood historical epics such as “Ben Hur”, or “The Longest Day”.
Hobbies: Cycling, exercising our two dogs, finding another museum, reading with a particular interest in history and biographies, and, my guilty secret, playing Football Manager!
Favourite Food: Pasta with bacon morsels, drizzled in olive oil, sprinkled with parmesan and healthily topped with basil leaves.
