Colin is head of Pagan Osborne's Agriculture and Estates team. After working on his family farm in Fife for eight years, Colin decided to take up law, obtaining his qualification from Dundee University. He joined Pagan Osborne in 1989 and has been a partner since 1997.
He is a specialist in agricultural law and rural property including all aspects of land and estate purchases and sales as well as agricultural landlord and tenant issues. His extensive expertise also includes alternative land uses such as telecoms, wind farms and other diversification projects, security work acting on behalf of Banks and Landowners, succession planning, estate and farm re-organisations, option agreements, contract farming agreements and all types of agricultural leases.
Colin has been accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a Specialist in Agricultural Law since 2005. In 2011 he was Winner of the Specialist Lawyer of the Year at the Legal Awards and was appointed as legal advisor to the Tenant Farming Forum in June 2011.
His professional memberships include Scottish Land & Estates, Scottish Agricultural Arbiters and Valuers Association, National Farmers' Union of Scotland, Agricultural Law Association, Scottish Agricultural Arbiters & Valuers Association, Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland and the Farmer's Club.
